1:1 School Nurse (LPN) – Transportation & School Day

Job Summary

Clinical Staffing Resources is hiring a 1:1 School Nurse (LPN) to provide one-on-one nursing care to a medically fragile student on the school bus and throughout the school day. You will be the student's dedicated nurse from pickup to drop-off, giving safe, skilled care and keeping the family, school, and physician informed.

• Pay: $42.00 per hour
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8-hour days (40 hours per week), including morning and afternoon bus runs; no nights or weekends, and the schedule follows the school calendar
• Location: Shoreham, NY
• Requirements: Active LPN license; pediatric or school nursing experience preferred

What You'll Do During the School Day

• Provide continuous one-on-one nursing care to your assigned student in the classroom, cafeteria, therapy sessions, and special events
• Follow the student's physician orders, Individualized Healthcare Plan (IHP), and Emergency Action Plan
• Give medications and treatments as ordered, including nebulizers, G-tube feedings, catheterization, and diabetic care such as glucose checks and insulin
• Perform tracheostomy care, suctioning, oxygen therapy, and ventilator or pulse-oximeter monitoring when ordered
• Monitor for and respond to seizures, respiratory distress, allergic reactions, and other medical emergencies, including calling 911
• Document vitals, care, medications, and incidents accurately and on time
• Partner with teachers, aides, therapists, and the school nurse so the student can take part safely in daily activities
• Communicate with parents or guardians, physicians, and your Clinical Staffing Resources clinical supervisor about changes in the student's condition
• Practice within your LPN scope under the direction of the supervising RN or physician, as defined by your state nurse practice act
• Protect student privacy under HIPAA and FERPA
