Healthcare Recruiter — School-Based Staffing

Location: Long Beach, NY (On-site / Office-based)   |   Department: Recruiting   |   Reports to: Branch / Recruiting Manager
Employment Type: Full-Time   |   Schedule: Monday–Friday, business hours

POSITION SUMMARY

Clinical Staffing Resources is hiring an experienced Healthcare Recruiter for our Long Beach office to source, screen, and place qualified clinical professionals in K–12 school and district settings. This is a relationship-driven role that blends candidate management with account management: you will build and nurture a pipeline of school-based clinicians while serving as a trusted point of contact for the districts and schools we support. The ideal candidate has direct healthcare staffing experience specifically within schools and understands the credentialing, compliance, and academic-calendar demands that make school-based placements unique. Based in our Long Beach, NY office, this role supports school and district clients across multiple states, including New York, Arizona, Texas, and Colorado.

REQUIRED: Prior healthcare recruiting/staffing experience within school settings (K–12 districts, charter, or special-education programs). This is a non-negotiable qualification for this role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own the full recruiting cycle for school-based clinical roles — sourcing, screening, interviewing, reference checks, offers, and onboarding.
  • Build a strong, active pipeline of school-based clinicians and support staff, including school nurses (RN/LVN), therapists (SLP, OT, PT), school psychologists and counselors, and paraprofessionals/aides.
  • Serve as the day-to-day point of contact for assigned school and district accounts — understanding staffing needs, filling requisitions, and ensuring placements start on time for the academic calendar.
  • Manage long-term relationships with both candidates and clients, driving redeployment, retention, and repeat business across school years.
  • Guide candidates through credentialing and compliance requirements (licensure, certifications, background checks, TB/health clearances, fingerprinting) specific to school placements.
  • Track candidate records, submittals, and client activity accurately in the applicant tracking system (ATS) and provide regular status updates.
  • Meet weekly and monthly recruiting metrics — submittals, placements, fill rates, and time-to-fill goals.
  • Partner closely with the branch team and clinical/compliance staff to deliver a smooth candidate and client experience.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated healthcare recruiting or staffing experience, with experience specifically placing clinical professionals in K–12 school or district settings.
  • Working knowledge of school-based roles and requirements (e.g., school nurses, SLP/OT/PT, school psychologists/counselors, paraprofessionals) and the compliance steps involved.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple client accounts and candidate relationships simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong sourcing skills across job boards, referrals, social media, and professional networks.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and follow-through, with a customer-service mindset toward both candidates and clients.
  • Comfort working with an ATS/CRM and standard productivity tools (Microsoft Office / Google Workspace).
  • Able to work on-site at the Long Beach office and available during standard business hours.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Established network of school-based clinicians across our service areas, including New York, Arizona, Texas, and Colorado.
  • Familiarity with multi-state school credentialing/licensure, special education (IEP) staffing, and district contract cycles.
  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent recruiting experience.
  • Experience in high-volume or seasonal (back-to-school) hiring pushes.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Competitive base salary plus performance-based commission/bonus.
  • Health, dental, and vision benefits; PTO and paid holidays.
  • Supportive, mission-driven team focused on getting students the care they need.
  • Growth path within an established clinical staffing organization.
